But despite their handicaps can come to be valued research personnel as long as they play within the rules. This is easier for some—hobs especially have v. valid reasons to fucking hate the Dwarves—but at least at the present day there's nothing stopping anyone from the chance to do research

Despite taking the lead, the Dwarves have no great issue with letting other races assist and learn, though prejudices often have them looking askance. Their fellow civilized peoples—the elves and trolls—are generally welcome. The goblin peoples—hobs, ogres, humans, orcs, etc—get the side-eye

The Dwarven University System is something like a unifying body of government for them. All actions are taken in the name of research and discovery, to facilitate and to protect those goals. What another power might call a colony, they call a research outpost. A military base is just security

Homunculi--what the world now knows as the Dwarves--were a synthetic people and not effected by the same compulsion. The damage is done: they can neither rebuild the world entirely nor have accurate depictions of it centuries later anyway, but they still try to put the pieces back together

Well now you have. Max Miller shared a similar recipe in his Tasting History video series on YouTube; before Karo popularized the corn syrup version something like this was more common. A screenshot of the recipe I use below, less some bourbon I was trying but that never really worked for me

I'm a fan of my in-laws' recipe, which forgoes the corn syrup for a custard base. But it's not for everyone

Thankfully it's all going to be in Magnolia and it's a team effort with my family. My MIL is coming; she's been talked down from attempting yet another ambitious spread beyond her physical capacity, to her family's relief

Congratulations on managing something small and humble; it sounds delicious

Nice. I baked pies last night and have ginger snaps sitting in a bag for transport. Tonight I go home, my part in this culinary mess dinner... And then promptly hit the road because I live in Dallas and family is in Houston and College Station

WorldCom was even bigger fraud than Enron, and he didn't know

So

One person saying "We aren't Enron?". Yeah. I've seen that before

He assured me back when the whispers about WorldCom first started that it was nothing and it would all blow over. I hadn't even heard anything about it and didn't pay it any mind until it blew up instead. He believed, held onto the stock options he was paid in, and lost millions as a result
