Wow, so many new faces here! My name is Caitlin, and I’m a 2nd-year sociology PhD student at Notre Dame, researching how religious persons navigate the medicalization of mental health. I am passionate about slow travel, musical theater, and cheering for the Fighting Irish. Happy to be here :)

Excited to share that the special issue, "The Catholic Priesthood in Times of Change," in the Review of Religious Research was released this month! This issue features my first solo-authored article, in addition to some other great reads by my colleagues. Check it out!

The documentary we watched is linked below for anyone interested -- I am particularly compelled by the paradigm shift that this film makes. What if humans leaving their footprint on the planet was a GOOD thing? How could this impact the way our society approaches the climate crisis?
Inhabit: A Permaculture Perspective (2015)
This documentary explores the many environmental issues facing us today and examines solutions that are being applied using "permaculture."

Just wrapped up leading a discussion on permaculture in our Environment, Food, and Society course. It's so refreshing to see the next generation of students excited by possible solutions to our climate crisis and incorporating climate justice and soc concepts we covered in class into their analyses!
