Man, I wish I had a pair-a-dimes to rub together...

I’m looking to fill a few more commission slots, I’ll have a dedicated post to that soon but for now check out the pinned post on my profile for details!

I do 3d models of characters, outfits and props for things like VRchat, Vtubing, animation and game dev.

Here’s an outfit commission I did for @mcspooks.bsky.social recently that I’m really happy with! The base model is actually a commission I did a few years ago so it was fun to get reacquainted with it.

Ended up making a 3D printed bust of my Toonami TOM 3 model. I’m pretty clumsy with an airbrush but I’m really happy with how cleanly it turned out.

I should clarify, that’s a video from the awesome Jan van den Hemel. He does really good no fluff, easy to follow tutorials so he’s very worth a follow!

Finally looked up how to use the curve stroke method when sculpting in blender and dang is it useful. Wish I knew it earlier. For those who are curious:

For what it's worth, I like Davinci Resolve a lot. My only problem with it was like 60-70% of basic effects I wanted to use were under the paid version. Finally shelled out for the paid version a little while ago which is a one-time purchase and now I have no complaints. Works great.

Man, someday I'm going to learn my lesson and pick a character to model who is new enough to have high res ref images exist of them....

But it is not this day.

Here's an in-progress of TOM 3

I think if I was just 20% more Chuunibyou in middle school, my name would be "Devil's Food Cakeman" right now.

Some very cool people just released a very cool demo, I highly recommend checking it out especially if you love the old school 3D platforming genre!

Bought some markers recently so I could start doodling again. I forgot how nice it is to draw on real paper

My latest 3D printing project: the Pan’ku box from Jackie Chan Adventures. I sculpted wood grain into the model to try and make it look like an old wooden puzzle box with peeling paint. Basically the goal was to make the movie prop version of it

Okay, maybe that guy was a bit fishy. We need the right detective for this case.

You know, there's just this one thing that bothers me.
If this fella's a fish, now, how can he smoke from his mouth? If I were a fish like our friend here, I would light the cigar and bring it up to my neck where my gills are. But he didn't do that. Now, why do you suppose that is?
cakeman.bsky.social
This was a mocopi one. I didn't have anything on hand that I could kick over like that so I had to just mime it and try and add some resistance and weight in Blender.
cakeman.bsky.social
Treasure. Definitely the easiest of the bunch. I picked some needlessly complicated motions as is my way.
cakeman.bsky.social
Sword Get. More of an acting take. In addiction to the spacing, I had to tweak the timing a bit so he spends a bit more time examining the sword.

Here's a few more mocap things I did recently/ It was a mix of Rokoko and Mocopi.

The struggle with this one is Rokoko is good at keeping feet grounded when one of them is flat on the ground but it has no way of doing that for hands or knees.
