What's dangerous is sometimes it is wrong but I am still satisfied with the answer. As a result, I've learned to doubt my knowledge which is actually probably a more accurate way to act.

Simply the consistent user interface for answers and being able to scan it quickly and efficiently is awesome.

Being able to tell it what formatting works well for me is even better.

Not having to context switch into another tab. And being able to scroll back to refer to where all these questions started. And not being as trapped in a tangled mess of tabs... Has all been immensely helpful.

Another more chat-interface-driven change is being able to ask follow up questions or clarifications instead of subsequent Google queries.

I noticed that Gemini streams faster than ChatGPT which has actually been a bad thing for this focus.

For example, the stream that the text comes in as helps me focus and parse info as it's streamed in.

My frenetic mind needs the equivalent of a finger tracing the text as I read it, I suppose.

Or, my anxious mind is intimidated by walls of text.

AI makes sense for incredibly complicated math and medical technology. Writing is how we learn to construct thoughts and ideas. Art is how we learn to express our humanity. AI for the humanités will create a generation that does know how to think or express thoughts.

I've heard some writers use it for a negative search. As in did I miss anything? Rather than to actively create. But, the tricky bit is it's still sitting there tempting you to use it to create also.

As someone who at an early age discounted mental math due to the existence of the calculator, the parallel with AI is there.
