Totally unplanned, but I loved the demo for Queen's Domain so much that I went ahead and made a short video about it.

Check out my thoughts and play it for yourself on Steam!

A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

A bird forever warning people: "A werewolf!" (just in case of werewolves).

Fitting to see Hamnet two days after the first Macbeth performance that ever got me sobbing with Macduff (hat’s off to my friends at the Lantern Theater Company in Center City Philly).

A ★★★★½ review of Hamnet (2025)
Something this utterly devastating yet profoundly life-affirming is probably as fitting a fictional tribute to the Bard you can make short of an actual adaptation of his work. If you’re the sort of pe...

The bricking-the-conclave-into-the-church chapter of The Royal Succession is so damned good. Maurice Druon doesn’t so much drip-feed you the most delicious parts of the era’s political intrigue as blast them at you out of a hydrant.

Anyone who has ever attempted to write historical fiction knows this terror too well.

People been out here doing “like and subscribe if you enjoyed this vid. I got a lot more of these things in my collection, so comment if you want to see me make more videos! We’ll see how it does with the algorithm” epilogues for literal centuries.

Hey @bsky.app @safety.bsky.app @support.bsky.team please unsuspend Goran immediately.

Goran is a great person, a great artist, and the whole anti-Palestine thing youre on is one of those "Ford funding Hitler" disasters you remember being shocked and dismayed by when you learned of in middle school.

In The Labyrinth of Time, entering the Ziggurat without a lantern is supposed to show a black screen. However, the developers put in the wrong filename for the black screen, so it fails to render, showing a black screen instead

I’ll never get over how psychopathic Los Angeles driving culture is. You can be crossing a 4-way stop sign as a pedestrian, and drivers will barrel up at full speed like they’re going to run the intersection and you with it. Half the time they’re not even looking at the road.

As a hopeless Bard fanboy, I had a *ton* of fun preparing for and recording this Alternate Ending. Probably the largest number of films we’ve ever covered in one episode?
The Podcast: Shakespeare on Film - Alternate Ending
We’ve been sitting on this idea for a while, and with Chloe Zhao’s Oscar hopeful Hamnet opening this month, it seemed like as good a time as any to finally move forward with one of the biggest topics ...

Prey is such a good video game. I might wish the character writing were stronger, but otherwise it's everything I could ask out of a modern take on the immsim. Totally engrossing start to finish.

I’m hard-pressed to think of a better director for Black Hole!
🚨Jane Schoenbrun is adapting BLACK HOLE for Netflix.🚨

Charles Burns’ cult graphic novel of teenage mutation, sex & rot in the suburbs — through the I Saw the TV Glow lens?! We’re not ready for this kind of beautiful sickness.

Netflix orders Jane Schoenbrun adaptation of Charles Burns’s Black Hole, direct to series
Netflix has ordered Jane Schoenbrun’s adaptation of Charles Burns’s Black Hole, in what promises to be a perfect collision of adolescent body horror and screen-age dysphoria.
