I don’t know why it didn’t connect in my head until now that they use Le Mans to protect WEC like the Indy 500 was used to protect the IRL. Makes the BOP kerfluffle more significant.

I just dinked around with the "Second Wind" version of ICR2 (www.goldenerasimracing.com/indycar-raci...) and I'm not sure if I like it more than the Rendition version. The look is definitely more faithful, and it's smoother, but the Rendition just looks so good and like a game 3 years newer.

And now for something completely different: "El Taco Loco" (see what they did there?) is the only 4-wheel independent suspension monster truck. The width requires disconnecting the spindles and hubs from the arms to transport it. Surreal to see it in motion.

Thanks to @danielsem2004.bsky.social I had to admire my Pro Circuit cars again. None are “accurate” but they have so much style. They were one step above mainline and priced accordingly ($2 vs. $1). Would love to see IndyCar and IMSA lines that followed this model.

My absolute dream is an IMSA redo of the HW Pro Circuit line, where the cars had authentic decos but plastic wheels and a focus on (orange) track use. The F1 line is pretty much there, I saw this in Target today and if Anthony was still alive would have picked it up: www.target.com/p/hot-wheels...

So the SBJ article from yesterday pointed to a continued partnership with Mattel, which I think is what is going to help this. I think we may get mainline cars, and if they're smart, playsets, which would divert some of the adult collectors away to let kids, y'know, play.
