Drew a cute little crow ( just for funsies, not for the book) I am so happy with her. It's good sometimes to take a little break from one big project and just see where the art winds take you.

I wrote this today as a reaction to someones words

To whom it concerns

You do not understand,
Surrounded by gems and sparkling wonder.
I wonder how you came to such a mindset.
Perhaps raised with money pouring from an endless fountain,
or something else,
Where you lived out life,
Never worried about sleep
And all its demons.
Perhaps the silver spoon's handle
to wide to see below
the backs you're walking on and mocking.
“ They're like zombies” you say with a laugh.
Well perhaps you're right.
Bitten by society,
With all life sucked out of them.
They were just trying,
As hard as we all do.
And they fell.
Some working two jobs,
Yet still they fell.
And down and down they go.
Because people like you think like that,
Even a school principal in sun valley,
Lives out of her car because rent went up so high.
Think about that.

To Feel Ok Again

The glass shatters.
I look up,
As art filled skies paint pictures in my mind,
Somehow in this vast lonely expanse,
I exist amongst magnificent beauty.
If we only knew,
Just how lovely everything can be.
Of course your depressed,
when all you do
is mentally sit in the shadows,
of this bright magnificent world.
Darling,
you were meant to feel the light.
Keep looking for the windows.
I'll hold your hand.

Street art

I saw what left in the lightning,
A crack,
Among the quiet artists
Painting in an alleyway.
Purposeful brush strokes.
Silence.
Stagnation.
Street kids of the nation.
Paint covered clothes,
Colored rainbow
A crack in the concrete,
Growing a rose.
She saw the art,
And behold
Without it,
They'd tear themselves apart.

Tell your story sitting
Tell it to the crowd
Tell it to the sky
Tell it to the ground
Tell it to your friend
Tell it to the crow
Tell it loud and firm
As only you would know.
