I read this as just "Coffee grounds in my coffee piss" and was SO confused. Im going back to bed.

The idea of giving streamers the ability to give greater access to people they trust behind the scenes is brilliant and I'm all for it. (we see that value in streamelements and even mixitup). I just worry about what a singular lead role that is visual to all can do culture wise in a community.

Totally fair point and I can totally see the need. I think my concern with it is less the function and more the optics. For example, they added the editor role some years back which is a VERY handy tool for bigger streamers but it doesnt come with a badge and I could see similar value in this.

Sadly I agree. And community like ours with genuinely great people will be the casualties.

And the shitty thing is the amount of great communities out there and a bunch of people who get to meet friends for the first time at something like twitchcon but PRETTY safe is not good enough. Mixer was supposed to be the savior but they were anything but. Again, I'm curious of the end game.

and it goes beyond safety. One of the biggest minecrafters in the world is in a wheelchair and twitch didn't have ramps for him to get on stage. How many people without his platform also had accessibility problems but couldn't say anything.

eh, I dont think I can blame current event on this. You and I both know people who have been drugged at conventions years ago and these stories about harassment and worse as well as twitchs lack of safety and negligence isnt new nor is the increase of pure morons.

After what we saw with Mixer $ the non-stop flow of things we see with Twitch you have to ask yourself, is there a safe space for streaming and will there ever be? How does reflect on this industry that has so much positivity by the small communities while not fostering them and whats the end game?

This tweet I made about Guest Star back in 2022 continues to be more and more true... sad.
