the trouble with being multilingual for computer languages, you can be reading documentation for something and it makes total sense. but something doesn't feel right and you get that feeling where things should fit together but don't. and *eventually* you're like wait this is the wrong language

The numbers in here are hilarious.

Do you use AI on the job?
Execs: 87%
Managers: 57%
Workers: 27%

Planned investment by 2030: $5T
"Necessary" annual revenue to justify that spend: $650B
Current annual revenue: $50B
Three years into the generative-AI wave, demand for the technology seems surprisingly flimsy
Investors expect AI use to soar. That’s not happening
Recent surveys point to flatlining business adoption

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

If you're following a 4-digit number of accounts, your model of social media use is emphatically Not For Me but I can also totally understand it. If you're following a 5+ digit number of accounts... It's just not gonna work out I'm afraid

current mood: "how long would it take me to generate the LaTeX for these typing rules from the Agda and how many config rules would i need to make it look acceptable"

this is, of course, what i should be spending my time on when the deadline for this paper is on thursday

there's a lot of ink being spilled about cloudflare's `.unwrap()` here, and it definitely is a bit of a code smell + smoking gun, but from reading the post-mortem it doesn't seem like "proper error handling" would have actually helped here 1/

i don't think i've ever been so frustrated as having to deal with the default vim latex indentation scheme

literally *nothing* i do can prevent it from randomly indenting and dedenting things as it pleases
