I've never used ChatGPT for translation so I don't know for sure (usually I use a combination of DeepL and Google Translate for translations), but I wonder if it translates some bits word-by-word. If so, it may translate a word to what it *could* be, but is incorrect in the context of the sentence.

Since I hit the character limit in that post, what I mean by the first section is "time" here means as in "it takes me a bit of time to get to the shop" (uncountable) rather than "I've gone to the shop 3 times this week" (countable). "0.5 time" wasn't a good example and I needed more room to explain

I think it's because you can't say "0.5 time" (using this definition of the word time, I agree English is kind of a mess), i.e. it's an uncountable quantity. For something like "seconds" then it'd be "few" since you can say "1 second", "0.5 seconds", etc., i.e. it's a countable quantity (of seconds)
