I've been looking at a lot of Mary Pratt paintings online (trying to find prints I could buy--it looks like there aren't any licensed ones, alas). When I saw the leftover chicken in the foil, I thought of her work...not that my composition is anywhere near as nice.

Busy kitchen day at Casa de Cardamom.

Baked this week's cake (chocolate-stout) and got started on the fruitcakes.

And not quite cook once, eat twice: Roast coriander chicken. Added those thighs (& back) to others for par-cooking for murgh makhani. Same marinade for both.

When you're Zoom interviewing a lovely (& somewhat influential person) and the first thing she says after hello (& realises your bg is your actual cookbook library) is "I have those books!" and then you spend 10 minutes talking about Nigella and Edna before you get to the actual interview.
My heaving cookbook shelves with my stuff on them -- cards, glasses, salt pig with catnip toys, a mug saying "diva" holding pens, a happy, fat Buddha statue.

Nigel, my fluffy tangerine kitty, with his paw on my ipad. The script is talking about the issues using volume to measure flour--Nigel is equally unimpressed with such sloppy measuring, as he looks away. Columns of cookies! Tomorrow's article includes the recipe for icebox sables. I recipe tested them making a few variations, incl matcha-sesame seed, Skor, vanilla-almond, and lime-coconut. I don't recall which pastry this is, but it's savoury and creamy with sesame seeds.

This is the latest I've cleaned up my front garden. My strawberry plant is still fruiting and this whatever it is is budding. Decided to see if I can make them last through the winter and potted them. My plants are fighters.
Something. I don't know what, with a pink bud. Let's see if it lives! My little strawberry plant. There's a white berry forming (there's a teeny one elsewhere on the plant. Let's see what happens.
