visual/communicative feedback to feel validated or like a welcome presence but having near-zero for a while really makes me think I should stop wasting my time on social media until I have something other than text to share. Ironically, that makes me want to share my creativity even less too.

In my experience, using the instance ID returned from a function like instance_create_layer() or instance_place() is consistent and stable. Hope it works out!

thinking critically at length about games but the level of depth required to understand them and the concept of gameplay as a whole is completely subjective. I feel like folks are analyzing the fun out of experiencing a game and it’s kind of annoying, honestly. To each their own but also not cool

Personally, I think the writers of those pieces are taking the concept a little too seriously. Games can both be deep artistic expressions and just fun toys with no ulterior motive to provoke thought. It’s simultaneously “not that deep” and “as deep as you want it to be”. There’s nothing wrong with
