Travelling to cities that are known for love (Florence, Rome, Santorini), I was able to read some romance while on my cruise. They are all very different from one another, with The Wedding Gift being an anthology of novellas. I enjoyed them all, and will share my thoughts.

I enjoy reading about underdogs and how they rise above, and The Boys of Riverside was a great book to listen to. A Most Extraordinary Ride was a bit too political for my taste, but I enjoyed learning about Marc Garneau's journey to becoming the first Canadian in space. Unfortunately, he passed away shortly before I listened to this book.

I finished my 20 Books of Summer with two books on my original list that I hadn't gotten to. I decided that I was going to read them on my cruise and I did. They were both romance and I enjoyed them both.

I will be off on holiday from today (leaving tonight at 6:00 p.m.) and not returning home until October 5th. I will be on a cruise for most of that time and will not have a lot of time to do much besides enjoy all the places we go, the sunshine, the company and maybe some reading at night before falling asleep. Those of you who regularly follow my blog know that I enjoy a good cozy mystery. One of these is the second book in a new series I tried earlier this month, one is a standalone story, and the other is the first book in a series that I started partway through. Time to go back and read or listen to the ones I missed along the way.

Enjoying so many genres means I can mix up my reading. Over the last couple of weeks, I have read several romance stories. They varied from RomCom to family drama with romance, to New Beginnings and one DNF that was way too steamy for me.

I saw this bookish travel post on It’s All About Books and thought, I like this!! So, I decided to try and do it at the end of every month. Hopefully, I will be able to keep track. I would love to be able to travel more, but I have to settle for armchair travel. I am only including actual places which is fine as I don't read a lot of fantasy.
