Finally watched The Rings of Power S2. Not a Tolkien purist, but this was hot garbage—gorgeous yet soulless, like Sauron made it. Only the Sauron/Celebrimbor plot worked (great acting). It just plunders LOTR for nostalgia bait. I don't care about any of these characters. SO BAD! #TheRingsOfPower

The length of the novels in my trilogy (500-700p) is by design. It's not a "come in, quick thrill, get out" story. I want you to feel each book is a season of a series, and you go on a journey in each character arc.
The 3rd book is the final season where all threads come together for an epic finale

Well, that was one hell of a trip. I loved #TheSubstance

If #CreatureCommandos is the official beginning to @jamesgunnfanpage.bsky.social's new #DCU, the future is looking bright, especially when I think of this tone and how other #DC properties like The Authority could benefit from it.
Can't wait for #Superman

After an entire age of Middle Earth, I finally watched "Longlegs". My hot take is I enjoyed it FAR MORE than "Late Night With the Devil".
I found it scarier, better acted, creepier, and it didn't ruin the mood with misplaced digital effects.

This. My White Harbor trilogy is freaking awesome. It won an award, and all 3 books made it to Amazon's Top 10 of horror by LGBTQ authors. The story is like "IT", "Uzumaki", and "Silent Hill" had a baby with serious issues.
Also, they're $0.99 all December here: slashichorrorpress.com

What's better than smiling with holiday cheer? Being paralyzed with holiday horror! Gives you time to read! You can get all of the @slashichorrorpress.bsky.social ebooks for just $0.99! So, what the hell are you waiting for? For Krampus to come at you with whips and chains? (Well, yeah, we all are)

4 towns that influenced the town in my White Harbor trilogy:
1) Kurouzu-Cho (Uzumaki)
2) Silent Hill
3) Innsmouth(The Shadow Over Innsmouth)
4) My hometown, Siquirres.
All "cursed towns" in their own way, where the "cursed" people refuse to leave, their trauma feeding the town.

The Arcane finale was... Good. Outstanding animation, character resolutions were fitting BUT... you can see where it was meant to be 3 seasons but Netflix said, "squeeze it down to 2". There are arcs that are resolved in one episode and should have been a season.
So, good, but rushed.

I wrote "White Harbor", a supernatural horror trilogy about generational cycles of trauma (plus cults, eldritch monsters, alternate realities, abuse, and a whole lot of toxic family dynamics). It won me an award by the IQFAF and was said to have "the best trilogy finale in years."

I know I'm going to sound like a horrible human, but for me, Isha is the weak point of Arcane season 2. I know what they were trying to do. I feel the impact of the character ON the other characters but not on me. It feels artificial and manipulative. She's a plot device, not a character.

I have now officially launched my channel in the Tube of You. Please help me by liking and subscribing to "Mythos in Media".
The first vid is only an intro to let you know what to expect, but it will help give a boost to my first video later this week, where I break down the finale of "The Penguin."

Ironically, crying at series, movies, and anime makes me smile because it reminds me I'm alive and human and I'm not jaded enough not to empathize. The most recent culprit that has made me ugly-cry:

Need advice from #producers and #filmmakers
I'm working on a TV pitch deck to adapt my horror trilogy. Which of these would you say is more appealing to a producer:
1) One 10-episode season for all 3 books
2) Three 6-8 episode seasons, one per book

This is one of the things I most value about @bsky.app, unlike other apps that just flag, shadowban, and block content and words, it let's ME decide.
I despise censorship in most forms, but understand why people CHOOSE not to view or interact with something.
Thanks for not forcing censorship on us.

Welcome to all my new followers! I'm a queer horror author, writer of the White Harbor trilogy, a supernatural/psychological trilogy about overcoming cycles of trauma... plus a cult, a haunted town, monsters, rituals, serial killers, and a whole lot of toxic family dynamics.

The first episode of #Arcane Season 2 starts the way any 2nd season should. Quickly establishing character, conflict, and world-building.
It's an art designer's dream. A piece of visual art. Companies like Disney should learn from this show's complex characters instead of sticking to tired tropes.
