I'd argue that the library has far more value to the current challenges Ottawa is facing right now than Landsdowne, since it also fills a lot of gaps in our social services.

What this message is trying to do is tell you that if you were all for funding the new library you also have to be ok with funding Landsdowne 2.0. Which is really gross, they aren't the same thing and have very different purposes in our society.

If I go to Landsdowne I have to spend money, it's a commercial space that has benefitted from a lot of help from tax payers. The library is one of the last remaining free public third places in the city that is for everyone; rich or poor.

Did he seriously try and pit the new library against Landsdowne 2.0?!
