📣 ENDORSEMENT!! 📣 This campaign has always been about standing up for working families, and now the Working Families Party is standing with us!

Proud to earn their endorsement as we fight for fairness, transparency, and affordability in every neighborhood. Let’s keep New Orleanians in New Orleans.

The current assessor says he encourages property owners to appeal their assessments, but that's not the flex he thinks it is. As your next Assessor, I'll make assessments fairer, clearer, and accurate so fewer property owners feel the need to appeal in the first place.

Wow- we suddenly all know so much more about property taxes in New Orleans and the assessor’s role! Let’s vote for more of this please — Casius Pealer #11 ! Election Day is this Saturday October 11th.

Families are being priced out of their neighborhoods, but it doesn't have to be this way. Other cities have taken steps to keep housing more affordable - and as Assessor, I know we can bring those solutions home to #NewOrleans.

Alright #nolasky Here's an amazing article about why you should care about the New Orleans asessor's race and an absolute bar of a quote from @casiusfornola.bsky.social veritenews.org/2025/09/26/n...
I think it’s hugely important that people appreciate that one of the differences in this race is there’s a Democratic candidate who is proposing to lower taxes on high-income homeowners and get the money to pay for that from low-income renters,” Pealer said. “There’s no other way to describe that policy.”

Housing and the climate crisis are connected—and we need leaders ready to tackle both. As you head to the polls this weekend for mayor and council, remember: the Assessor’s office matters too. Let’s elect one committed to fixing this.

New Orleans is being priced out. The Assessor’s office can be part of the solution.

Verite News breaks down what’s at stake in this race + why I’m running to bring fairness + accountability.

Proud to share that Casius earned an A on the #PutHousingFirst Candidate Scorecard, reflecting his strong commitment to affordable housing in New Orleans. This election, let's choose leaders who will put housing first for New Orleans families.

Throwback Thursday to that time the incumbent forfeited $42M in commercial property without the Mayor or Council's approval.

“Sales chasing” is unfair and harmful to everyone from homeowners to renters. The data show the current Assessor’s office is doing it.

I’ll end this practice as your next Assessor.

Don’t just take my word for it. Dig into the data from the 2024 Legislative Auditor report (p 10-17). Link in bio.

Nearly 99% of New Orleans’ recent population loss is renters. That matters because cities need people to thrive, and renters are a huge part of our tax base.

Casius is the only candidate for Assessor looking at this data and offering real solutions.

I joined Rebirth Brass Band on stage at the Rabbit Hole to spread the word about this race. Addressing the housing crisis means using every tool available. That’s how we make sure culture bearers and everyone who makes this city great—whether they own or rent—can continue to call Orleans home.

If you believe homeowners and renters shouldn't be taxed out of their neighborhoods, corporations should pay their fair share, and #NewOrleans deserves an Assessor who works for the people - then let's come together to elect Casius Pealer and give our city the leadership it deserves.

Thank you Greater St. Stephen for welcoming me today! It was an honor to connect with neighbors about what fairness, transparency, and accountability can look like in the Assessor’s office. This campaign is about bringing new energy and vision to serve the people of #neworleans.

From making data accessible for both elected officials and community members, to being transparent about how assessments are determined, there are countless opportunities to improve the Orleans Assessor’s Office.

I’m running to raise expectations and to show what’s possible.
casiusfornola.bsky.social
In 2020, the Assessor cut commercial property assessments by 25-57% without any individual determination of loss.

That one decision, made without input from the Mayor or City Council, cost New Orleans $42 million and left out most small business owners and all residential properties.

Friday's debate showed what's at stake in this election and why it's time for new energy and a new vision in the Assessor's office. Thank you to the many community partners for hosting this important conversation, and to everyone who came out to listen, ask questions, and share your voice.
casiusfornola.bsky.social
This race matters to everyone fighting to stay in New Orleans whether you own a home or rent one.

On October 11, we have the chance to bring new energy and a new vision to the Assessor’s office — one that finally prioritizes renters too.
casiusfornola.bsky.social
New Orleans deserves an Assessor who works for the people - not someone who's been in office for 40 years without accountability.
This Friday, Sept. 5, join us as Casius takes the stage at @urbanleaguela's By the People Candidate debate for Assessor. Your support in the room makes a difference !

When elected I’ll have 14 months to prepare for office, and here’s how I’ll do it.

Vote for tax fairness on October 11.

@veritenews.org asked each candidate for Assessor tough questions about gentrification, affordability, what the office can really do for New Orleanians. Read my full Q&A in Verite's Election Guide - link in bio.

“ Organized labor clearly has a stake in progressive national housing policy.
Likewise, housing and community activists have a stake in a stronger labor movement."

On this Labor Day, let’s celebrate the housing successes of the early labor movement.
