This pride month we recognize the intersections and overlap between victim-survivors of TFSV and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. ❤️
casmidaproject.bsky.social
There is limited literature about the nature or scale of sexual violence experienced by LGBTQ+ individuals in Singapore. However, scholarship from elsewhere in the world including Australia, China, the UK, and the US indicate the urgent need for further research and intervention.
casmidaproject.bsky.social
While all individuals and bodies should be treated with respect and care, members of the LGBTQIA+ community are too often subject to violence. This includes technology facilitated sexual violence (TFSV), intimate partner violence (IPV), and other sexual harms.
casmidaproject.bsky.social
We stand in solidarity will all victim-survivors and all members of the LGBTQIA+ community in recognition of a mutual struggle for a safer future free of fear or shame.

Images of violets, lavender, a rose, and a lotus flower to symbolize various facets of LGBT and survivor histories. Text reads "Consent culture and LGBTQIA+ liberation both stem from a foundational belief in bodily autonomy, self determination, and mutual respect."

Today, 30th April 2025, is #DenimDay

We don our denim in solidarity with victim-survivors of sexual assault. Today our blue jeans are a reminder that there is #NoExcuse for assault be it physical or digital.
Image of blue jeans with a leather tag that reads "Denim Day 2025" from the CASMIDA Project Text over a denim pocket that reads "Victim-survivors often face blame for their experiences of technology-facilitated sexual violence. However, the responsibility lies with the person who commits the offense and violates consent." With a note to see our publication in Violence Against Women for more information about victim blaming on college campuses in Singapore.
