Blood Over Bright Haven by M.L. Wang. It’s a brilliantly written fantasy that explores themes of power, privilege and oppression, intent vs impact. The protagonist is the first woman to rise to the position of highmage (a magic researcher) and discovers a conspiracy about her world. It’s SO good!
