These long overdue realizations don't exculpate neurotypicals (and other neurodivergent ppl, too) from their responsibility to be inclusive, accommodate when possible, and treat folks with basic human courtesy. Instead it's understanding that no one else can fix my brain but me.

And remembering the mantra, "my mental health isn't my fault but it is my responsibility" - in other words, throwing around diagnoses from my psychiatrist in casual conversation might explain shitty behavior, yea, but it doesn't excuse it or make it ok
