My one and only experience of jury service slightly terrified me, and made me much more skeptical of the whole thing. I think we came to the right decision, but I still wouldn't have wanted that group of people deciding my fate!

It is ironic, but "peace is possible only when all the people who disagree with you are dead" seems an all-too-common assumption.
