171.) COMPLETE - Krampus

Very Gremlins-esque in its tone and style, with some impressive practical effects. Pretty entertaining comedy-horror movie on the whole, though I feel it could've kept up the energy a bit better in the third act.

170.) COMPLETE - The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended edition, rewatch)

Even the fourth time through, this movie doesn't feel like it is 3 1/2 hours long. It's so fantastically paced and is dripping with amazing visuals, character drama and world detail.

Every time I see this fucker outside of press photos and public addresses, he looks like the Smiling Friends building inspector.

169.) COMPLETE - Disney's Living Characters: A Broken Promise

Mr. Perjurer, you've done it again.

237.5 hours (the playtime here doesn't reflect the 6 hours I spent in the demo)

COMPLETE - The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy (All 100 Endings)

This game is something special.

It has its ups and downs, but the amount of depth, expansive character writing, dense worldbuilding and incredible narrative variance makes it a marvel of interactive writing.

Long live the SDU.

168.) COMPLETE - The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy (Romance route, all endings)

A breezy, sweet-hearted route giving some additional time to Kurara and Kyoshika, while also glazing Tsubasa more because we just do that now (don't worry, I love her too).

A fine way to close out my experience.

167.) COMPLETE - The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy (Jailbreak route, all endings)

[NOTE: Route name changed to avoid spoilers]

A solid deviation off 2nd Scenario, but it has a similar issue to Rebellion where the limits of its scope kneecap it somewhat. The central dynamic comes on VERY fast.

166.) COMPLETE - Air Bud

If you've seen any stock standard kids sports movie, you've watched Air Bud but without the dog.

Has a fun final act but it's mostly pretty thinly plotted and predictable.

Anyway have an anecdote from one of my friends that's honestly better than the film itself.

165.) COMPLETE - The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy (Box of Blessings route, all endings)

It's like an onion... you peel back the layers, and all you're left with is bitter tears.

164.) COMPLETE - The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy (Serial Battles route, all endings)

Far as gimmick routes go, it's pretty solid. Mostly an excuse for some humorous character banter in-between battles, and to serve as a boss rush/gauntlet. But still, a neat use of the game's concepts.

I was about to mention that's probably why the remake exists, to streamline that shit, but now I'm just confused why Bluesky thinks you're speaking Portuguese

163.) COMPLETE - Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping

Lonely Island does a music mockumentary. It's funny as shit. Who knew?

162.5.) COMPLETE - Doraemon: Nobita and the New Steel Troops ~Winged Angels~ (rewatch)

After seeing 30 of them, I felt it was time to revisit the first Doraemon film I truly loved.

It's still amazing, even on rewatch. Big in scale, and emotionally satisfying. New Steel Troops just *is* that good.

There are certainly other Doraemon movies that I find on my mind fairly frequently (Antarctic Kachi Kochi, both South Seas and Treasure Island, Secret Gadget Museum, Windmasters), but the one my brain keeps going back to is New Steel Troops.

Like, it just feels kinda special, somehow.
November 15, 2025 at 6:57 PM
I think it's fairly telling that out of the 30(!) Doraemon movies I've seen, the one I cannot get out of my head is New Steel Troops.

Maybe it's because it was among the first I saw? Even so, it really left an impact. It's a wonderful movie, shows how emotionally rich and exciting these films are.

I have the Superman: Birthright compact already. Solid book far as I've read, and I can't argue the quality and amount of material for $10. Planning on a few more compacts in the near future, likely at least Batman: Court of Owls and DC: The New Frontier.

After that, I'm getting TF Compendium.

162.) COMPLETE - The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy (Comedy route, all endings)

Yep, that was certainly the comedy route.

Really funny, but a bit spread out for how many permutations it has.
November 12, 2025 at 8:34 PM
Still kinda flabbergasted that Doraemon movies are as consistent as they are. Not only in terms of storytelling (the vast majority are good), but in terms of animation.

I'm so used to hearing horror stories about anime production and missed deadlines. So these movies looking as good as they do-

161.) COMPLETE - The Satellite Girl and Milk Cow

Words fail me.

It's not *good*, but it's so batshit absurd and earnest with everything it does. It's so goddamn funny, please watch this movie.
November 11, 2025 at 4:23 AM
This is another movie I can say is an easy recommendation for anyone interested in Doraemon. The core story really simple and effective, so it can easily connect with someone even if they have no idea what Doraemon is.

Also Claire is utterly adorable, she's an absolute gem.

160.) COMPLETE - Doraemon: Nobita's Art World Tales

It doesn't matter if a drawing is skillful. All that matters is that it's made with the love of something only you can make.
