That would seem newsworthy - the government intimidating journalists and denying free speech and first amendment rights. That would seem a big deal. Yet it wasn't covered in the media (aside from tnr)

1: trump starts a trade war
2: china retaliates, stops sending sensitive items, stops purchasing farm products
3: trump needs a win, removes the tariffs
4: china shrugs
5: trump say, how about you get taiwan?
end point: tariffs same as under Biden, china got taiwan.

The art of the deal!

Yeah, but what are you going to wipe yourself with?

I enjoyed the rightous mind (the history and evolutionary case for morality was interesting) - the coddling of the american mind was awful. Not sure I should read this as Haidt is a crank (not following him close enough). Lukianoff seems like a piece of work, I don't hear about FIRE much today...

Not a fan of Kim by any means (she's another hateful MAGA propagandist) but can we make fun of her for her opinions/statements and not her outfit?

Be glam, girl, and don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise.

What is appalling is the absence of coverage of it here in the US. Free speech is being suppressed by threats of lawsuit and that doesn't ring any alarm bells.

The US media is ignoring this (a news organization cowing to political pressure should be important, freedom of the press!)

They did not ignore it when the BBC was in the wrong (editing trump's address on Jan 6 to remove the peaceful comments), so BBC coverage is newsworthy. But only one way...

They won't learn - they're in the tank. You'll have to reach voters through other means.

Asking questions with the obvious answer left out is a common engagement trick.

10% of food inflation explains the '24 election. That's a huge price increase in the most visible items (that and gas, you see every day).

I wouldn't read too much into it. I mean the guy may be a piece of toast, but he may be a car dealer that isn't very well versed in public communications.

Family dynamics are weird since he's the same age as Karolin and his brother/her husband is like 20 years older

Where is Fahrenthold? We cared about the self dealing of having the tax payer pay him to play golf (secret services used to pay inflated rates for rooms at his hotels, didn't they?)

The corruption has scaled up so much, this is ignored now.

Or rather: the voters elected him knowingly.

Disagree. Being out and about has to be good for his health. Can't he stay on the couch, watch Fox News and eat McDonald's?

Poker's goal is to impoverish others and it is greed driven. But it's a strategy game! Does he play monopoly?

The cognitive decline is what I would focus on, not the shorter days

I don't think it makes a difference. You fly your family to SF from overseas ($1,000s), you spend three nights in the city ($200x3x2 rooms for a family), you rent a car for a week ($500). I'm sure a $100 fee won't stop you to get into Yosemite.

This was on day 100 (before most of the crypto and bought out pardons and Jared doing middle east policy and trump Riyadh) and it didn't even include the millions of LIV payments for golf course tournaments (that had happened and will again) www.warren.senate.gov/newsroom/pre...
