Northwestern leaders capitulated and have trampled on their own people in the process.
And one more other thing I’m seeing now, that Northwestern unsurprisingly didn’t mention in its statement, effectively banning gender affirming care at NU school of medicine

Rudy Bridges is younger than the Sitting President of the United States and 29 sitting United States Senators
It’s useful for people of my generation to be reminded that this wasn’t that long ago. Ruby Bridges isn’t just still alive—she’s only 71, not ancient!
65 years ago on Nov. 14, little Ruby Bridges was escorted into an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Norman Rockwell, renowned for blissful depictions of Americana, did this remarkable painting for Look magazine. Printed as a double page, over-size spread, it's his masterpiece.

This is a disgusting lie and an unacceptable use of official capacity.
From an official government account: "Womp womp."

It is not just that we are ruled by morons, but our tax dollars are paying the salaries of morons who possess the emotional capacity of a Doberman in heat.

TIL: Women were commonly relied upon to hand color the images of early medical texts. Their work is rarely credited, and yet, we can appreciate the immense impact coloration had on training physicians before color printers were available. #BEDMED2025 @galterlibrary.bsky.social

The scale of Alice Wong's @sfdirewolf.bsky.social legacy is one we can't yet measure, but it's already immense. Her force exceeded every expectation set out for her, and she shared so many gifts with the world - not least of which was her unapologetic pride in disability.
I’m devastated by @sfdirewolf.bsky.social’s passing. Alice was an incredible advocate, writer, and human. I miss her so much already and am grateful for our time together but mostly for the legacy she left us all. Her memory is a huge blessing. www.facebook.com/share/14QATF...

This is a victory for our organizers, our lawyers, our activists, our documentarians. It’s nowhere near enough, and, devastatingly, it’s too late for some, who chose to leave the U.S. rather than face the inhumane conditions at Broadview or elsewhere.
