It IS interesting! A water-themed hero who can't use their powers without strengthening the plant enemies that drink said water. Good way of challenging them to think outside the box.

Love how her expression signals that, despite turning to villainy, she still isn't totally onboard with it all.

Resemblance to any other totally unrelated OCs is purely coincidental, I'm sure...

In all seriousness though, great work on this one!

Thanks for sharing what you have! Can't wait to see more of this morally-dubious, divinely-appointed, lizard woman

What are her goals and/or desires? Where do you see her story taking her?

Like, if I spent the last 40 years having my plans foiled by the SAME GUY, I'd get a little annoyed with him too. Maybe enough to decide I just wanted him dead at this point. I don't think it's too much to ask that Mario be allowed to be a little peeved at Bowser constantly ruining his day too.

Not saying that needs to be case for the bing bing wahoo man, but I'd just like to say that the most entertaining characterisation of Bowser in recent memory is the time he decided he was sick of playing games and forgoes kidnapping a princess in favour of just deciding he was going to kill Mario.

I'm just not a big fan of how often rivalries between a hero and their main villain are depicted as so boringly dispassionate. This is especially the case for long-running franchises, where the hero and villain SHOULD be harbouring deep-seated resentment towards each other that boils over into rage.

"I didn't find this joke funny, I didn't like this character's depiction, I didn't find the plot twist surprising" Okay, but you SHOULD have. This is either just your personal taste not meshing with my art, or I have done something wrong in the execution of my idea, leading to it not landing.

Yep, big difference between "I personally didn't like how they did this" and "this decision irreparably derailed the direction of the piece". The tricky part comes when those two intersect in messy ways and it's your job as the artist to figure out how to untangle it into something constructive.

Look up reviews of any piece of divisive media in the last 10+ years and you'll find people all pointing out the same problems, but all with radically different reasons as to how it's a problem. People may lack the ability to tell you the WHY, but they can certainly still tell when something is BAD.
