The President of the United States unilaterally levied a tax on all of us and is redistributing our taxes to a core segment of his supporters.
Trump: "I'm delighted to announce this afternoon that the US will be taking a small portion of the hundreds of billions of dollars we receive in tariffs ... and we're going to be giving and providing it to the farmers in economic assistance. We love our farmers. The farmers like me ... $12 billion"

What in the actual hell
I am not live posting the whole argument here because I want to listen closely to Trump v. Slaughter. But the solicitor general for Trump just said the point here in killing the independence of agencies like the FTC is that executive branch officers must “fear and obey” the president. Wow. #SCOTUS

Evergreen.
It's all just one big Trump grift as our country collapses. And Congress sits there with their thumbs up their asses.

Putin’s spokesman Peskov praised recent changes to the U.S. National Security Strategy, claiming they align with Russia’s views. He called it a potential basis for “constructive work” on a "Ukraine settlement".

This says it all.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

There is a new axis of evil that is actively pouring money, influence and energy into undermining European democracy: the USA, Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Russia may collapse before long (but like a dying wasp, sting all the worse), but the other two have very deep pockets.

I agree. This is "actually" important.

Can't at the moment think of any episode in my (long) journalistic experience of comparable interference with results.

The people in that room arguing to kill these men are actual murderers. We don’t have reliable evidence they were doing anything wrong; we are not at war; there were no formal accusations against them; even if they were enemy combatants you can’t kill shipwrecked survivors waving for help
NEW info on shipwreck attack. It gets worse.

The 2 survivors climbed atop wreckage and waved to overhead.

"Some of the people viewing the video thought ... could have been an attempt to surrender"

Others "said the most logical explanation was ... signaling for a rescue."

The Roberts Six have thoroughly politicized the Court and turned it into a reliable arm of the RNC.

Democrats should have no reservations about calling them out for it, demanding resignations from these bought-off hacks and running on a promise to enact sweeping reforms.

The current Supreme Court has forfeited all legitimacy.

Democrats (and everyone) need to address that reality.

John Roberts > Roger Taney.

Court needs to expand. And have fixed terms—like *every* other supreme court in developed world. And have ethics rules, like all normal organizations.

It may sound radical, but if one guy has so much wealth and power that he can use the large newspaper he owns to publicly threaten to ruin a service we all rely on, presumably as a bargaining tactic to get lower rates, we probably need to tax that guy until he can't do that anymore.
