Nevertheless, among them all, I would like to point out Marika Sartore and Yasaman Asgari, two young and talented researchers who I am sure would do a great job as well in the board!

If you share these ideas, I’d love your support! 😎

Finally, I am lucky enough to know some of the other candidates, and I can say that they are amazing people. Whoever will be in the board, the future of the society is well ensured!

WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO (pt. 2)
✅ Explore a mentorship program where young researchers can receive guidance beyond their direct supervisors.
✅ Create a dedicated discussion platform for continuous exchange of ideas and support.
✅ Help organize the CCS warm-up in Siena, a place I know very well!

WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO (pt.1)
✅ Enhance resources for newcomers, making it easier to join our field (think: tutorials, book lists, seminal papers).
✅ Launch a periodic newsletter with opportunities, events, and key updates to strengthen our network.

THE REASON. I believe a scientific community goes beyond just producing research—it’s about bringing people together, and creating opportunities. This is why I was one of the organizers of this year’s Winter Workshop on Complex Systems, and this is why I’d love to contribute to yrCSS in this role.

Here we go! I’m glad to announce my candidacy for the Advisory Board of yrCSS!

A (short!) thread about why I'd like to join the board, what I’d like to do and about other young complexity scholars you could vote with me (three votes per each voter!).

Between 2019 and 2023, researchers paid $8.968 billion to make papers open access. Imagine what else could be done with this money if it wasnt paid to for profit publishing companies...
