a few candidates have talked about this but any Dem planning to run in 2028 should make it explicit: the next DOJ will, in fact, go after you if you’re funding this awful ballroom, or any other pay to play deals you make with this administration
Dimon on why JPMorgan Chase is not funding WH Ballroom:
We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.

The fact that TPUSA posted the entirely reasonable comments from the instructor here as coming from the “TRANS PROFESSOR” gives away the game.

They’re not defending students, they’re targeting faculty — as always
idk not to mention how very nuanced and normal the actual response here was

In the last week, Donald Trump has called for the murder of Congressional Democrats and threatened to unilaterally declare an invasion of Venezuela.

If Congressional Republicans followed the Constitution, both of these would be removable offenses. But, they’re loyal to Trump, not the constitution.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

Someone should convince Dumbhead to be the principal architect on his "ball room." Let him draw out plans like a deranged Homer Simpson drawing his $82K monstrosity of a car, only in building form. Then, when construction of this purile dungpile screeches to a halt because shit doesn't line up...

This literally reads like an extortion letter, or a note giving ransom to hostage-takers, dressed up in legalese.

Absolutely stunning that the federal government is the intimidating criminal in this crude shakedown racket, and that institutions of higher education are its target.
I’ll look at it in more depth later but Northwestern’s agreement seems more campus-specific than previous deals and imposes restrictions on campus conduct beyond what others ave agreed to. Northwestern seems to have surrendered autonomy to a shocking extent. www.northwestern.edu/president/do...

“No quarter" is a war crime under international law, meaning it is illegal to refuse to spare the lives of those who surrender or are unable to fight.

Refusing an illegal order is not insubordination, it is a legal DUTY made sacred by the blood of those who secured it.
