#Inktober Day 07: True Heart Bear (Care Bears)

I was a huge Care Bears fan, growing up, and I always loved the big movies that they had, so I decided to depict True Heart as she appeared in that film. It always amazes me how much they did with so little in those movies.

#Inktober Day 06: Anne (my OC)

There's some level of poetic justice that the character I rolled today is the character that had her outfit inspired by Tanya. Anne is a very old character for me, and one of her defining traits (aside from her faith) is that she makes her own dresses.

Ooo... I'm a fan of this one. Definitely gonna have to give it a shot! It's a bit of a shame that there's only a slot for 'waifu' and not one for the male equivalent, though I guess you could put either there.

I saw Fievel Goes West before I actually saw the first film, so this version of Tanya always stuck in my mind. Don Bluth had an incredible impact on me as a storyteller and an artist. I still strive to embody those lessons.

#Inktober day 04: Maverick (friend's OC)

I don't normally draw humans, but my friend's OC list has a couple (and the dice said to), and Mav here is especially important to him. He's a street urchin type of kid living in the SatAM #Sonic universe. He likes to stab bad bots!

Although this was drawn from a list of my friend's inspirations, Blinky Bill is still a character that I've a bit of a history with! He was actually the subject of one of my earliest commissions. It was fun to revisit him!

#Inktober 2025 Day 02: Fiona Sixtus

I created Fiona in high school when I was deeply into debate. I would use her to express my views and vent my frustrations about issues. I eventually fleshed her out into an actual character. And, yes, she has six rings on her tail.

So, for this #Inktober, I'm doing something slightly different! I'm doing the challenge with an online friend and we're following a fun four day format. Day 1: Draw a character that inspired your art. 2: One of your OCs. 3: A character that inspired the other. 4: One of their OCs. Then repeat!

Ah, I meant to post these last two pages earlier, but I got caught up in stuff! I still need to fix page 19 to make it more readable, but I'm rather happy with these overall. It's just been really fun to show my characters interacting like this.

Rick and the skunk girl stare at one another in surprise (and possibly attraction!). Rick thinks he sees the eyes of another girl in the skunk's face, but he shakes himself out of the memory just in time for the skunk girl to warn him about one of the punks trying to attack Rick from behind! Rick defends himself with a powerful kick.

Rick looks over the unconscious body of the defeated punk. Meanwhile, the skunk girl is calling the police. Rick panics, but realizes that they can't leave the scene now that the police know they're there. He asks the girl to help him put the knocked out bodies of the punks into a large trash can. The girl helps and then introduces herself as Paula. Rick introduces himself as well and the two of them wait for the police to arrive.

I've been working on an 8-ish page comic done in a black & white manga style. I've never really done a monochromatic comic before, so I'm learning a lot! I just finished page 8 last night and am planning to make a final drawing for it to complete it. I don't even have a title yet!

2019- I'm still happy with this piece, but I knew so little about backgrounds and texturing.
2025- I didn't start doing comics properly until after COVID hit, and it's made such a difference. I also took some art classes and worked on my backgrounds.

While I still have gotten comments on my DA page for new art, the only notes that I get are from scammers and bots, unfortunately. Plus, it's extremely hard to break through the flood of AI art that is constantly being posted on the front page. I don't think it's in a great state.
