In May 2020, I took a minute-long Pan's Labyrinth trailer I had held onto from my old movie theater job, and unrolled it from the top of a hill.

I was wearing this denim dress a few days ago. I will never have an off-the-rack body shape at any size, so eShakti was a godsend. It seemed like such an ethical company too.

Any time a dress doesn't have pockets now, I want to go to the manufacturer and ask, "What do you have to say for yourself?"

This is a bagworm moth in its awesome little house.

(I checked that this is not AI, though not all kinds of bagworms make this particular style of house, if you go searching for more images)

Apparently the females have stunted little wings and cannot fly. And both male and female die after mating.

Watching @markhamillofficial.bsky.social set up a clip from "Life of Chuck" on @colbertlateshow.bsky.social by saying that it's best to go into the movie without knowing anything about it.

So our local Emergency Alert Service obliged.

I have never seen one of these tests run AFTER MIDNIGHT.

If our supposed defenders don't form up - if we all don't form up, each of us doing what we can - and run up one huge, damn Cyclone... then this the end of the herd.

Reminder:

When a herd of reindeer is threatened, the herd runs fast in a "cyclone" to confuse predators, keeping the most vulnerable in the center. The whole herd survives.

Trying to save "most" of the herd lets predators pick off the herd, most vulnerable first, until there's no herd left.

I gave up trying to re-find the study/article I read that dealt directly w infant+ infection and neurological impact/ development (so many 1000s of covid studies, yikes!), but I did find one that found an association between in utero exposure and increased neurodevelopmental disorders.

I know I'm just getting started over here, but if anyone happens to see this:

I have a holiday book!

"Every Little Snowflake" is a sweet conversation between mother and child about kindness and joy, the real St Nick, and the different ways people can spend their holidays.

It's also 20% off!
