Wheriae and Petalvine hated each other.

And they loved each other.

Petalvine is dead, and, through a faun named Meadow, Wheriae is holding onto the very last piece of her to keep the world from falling apart.

Lykoi breeders when I got my lykoi: Oh, they don't need bathing! They're not like sphynx cats!

Mattie's skin: *cysts everywhere*

Lykoi breeders now: Lykois require bathing once or twice a week!

Poor mattie. She's not in pain. I just feel bad.

Are... people on Twitter confusing scientific names with common names? "Mustela nigripes" is a scientific name. Do you know what that is? No? How about black-footed ferret?

We're not asking you to call things "long furry creature," just like... no one knows what "Haliaeeta leucocephalus" is.

The thing I don't like about the AI imagery addon is that if you post something AI-generated to warn people that it's AI-generated, you are then tagged as "posting occasional AI imagery." Dumb.

It’s infuriating to me that I need to evaluate media to determine whether it’s AI generated now. The great “time saver” technology wastes incalculable time and energy for people who want to retain their grasp on reality

Introduce yourself with five animals you've seen in the wild:

California Condor
American Bison
Prairie Dog
Bighorn Sheep
Peregrine Falcon
Introduce yourself with five animals you have seen in the wild:

Dolphins (right by my canoe!)
Sea turtle
Snakes (so many types)
Pheasants
Foxes

Also rabbits, deer, assorted fish, coyotes and a mountain lion (once, and yes it was scary lmao).
Introduce yourself with five animals you have seen in the wild:

Pilot whale*
Puffin
Barred owl
Spawning salmon in fresh water
Luna moth

*I think it was a pilot whale but this was when I was 13 so I don’t remember exactly. It was an incredible moment, whatever kind of whale it was!

"large corporations abuse copyright" and "without copyright protections, small creators would be destroyed" are both true statements.

The only way they can justify stealing from us is to convince themselves we're actually rich.
Honestly, people calling creators the "petite bourgeoisie" makes me want to snap.

We're working folk. And we work really hard. For next to nothing.

We're not lounging around eating bonbons. We're trying to figure out how we're going to be able to pay rent next month.

They really missed an opportunity with Zootopia 2. They could have called it ZooTwopia.

My student loan company (SLC): You owe us money.
Me: Cool, can I set this up to auto-pay every month?
SLC: no
Me: OK can you remind me of the payment date via email?
SLC: no haha
Me: oh okay so it looks like this is due on the 30th?
SLC: probably, but who can say?

I have to have a full-time job. I'm in IT, so it's definitely decent! But it leaves me very little time for writing.
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

This is what happens with book piracy.

The industry is looking for a Quick Fix. They want to buy books that they already know will sell. Currently this sentiment has completely taken over the fantasy genre and nearly all commercially and trad-published fantasy books share a similar formula. 1/20

Once again, fuck you Brian May for promoting AI. You should know better.

Baby jackassholes heard "eat the rich" and interpreted that as "anyone who has ever made so much as $1" and decided to fuck over creative indies first.
November 25, 2025 at 2:03 AM
I was gonna make another thread about "don't pirate books" because it's happening again. But instead doing that, I'll just note that the reason so many books are shit lately is because you're stealing books from people who can't afford to live, which means they also can't afford to write good books.

Read this fucking thread.
I posted a buy link here to "A Magical Inheritance" a few days ago, and 24 of you immediately went to Anna's Archives and fucking stole it from me.

Yes, stole it.

I do not get paid for your download there because YOU ARE STEALING FROM ME.

Oops Warcraft Lore Incoming:

Me in Warcraft/Early World of Warcraft: It really kinda seems like "the light" is an allegory for fascism and christianity, with "light bless you" being a direct descendant of "God bless you" and I can't wait to see what they do with this.

Not enough viruses to kill all your bacteria?

Problematic phage gap.
Somebody's taken out an entire chapter of your book?

Problematic page gap.
Wizard keeps throwing fireballs like confetti every combat while sorcerer keeps spending sorcery points trying to perfect subtle spells?

Problematic mage gap.

I remember reading something about how people who see color REALLY WELL don't like yellow, but I can't find that and I'm not sure if I invented that or not.
It's such a subtle difference in what yellow makes my brain freak out too.

First yellow: fine. Nice yellow. Chill.

Second yellow: untrustworthy. Possibly dangerous.
