Aaaaaaaaah!

And she held aloft Excalibur, gleaming in the twilight’s rays!

Sooo, I dropped something.

I didn’t want to bend over the pile of craft supplies on the chair next to me to get it & get all POTSy.😵‍💫

So I put duct tape on a ruler.

It worked.
Ta dah!✨

It’s so dry in the coop; I hit 27% humidity!

A standard good level is 40-60%, though 50-60 is ideal.

So, I started boiling a big pot of water to up the air’s moisture level (and to get a tasty bean, rice, carrot, & kale soup).

My beak was so dry I hovered over my soup bowl & fogged up my glasses!

This event is open to the public and free, but you have to sign up in advance (they ask for a business name/industry, you can put your name/Other).

🌀Peeps in the insurance industry will attend, so if you (or loved ones) need insurance in a hurricane-prone area, you may want to attend. #hurricanes

My dad was in his mid-70s in summer 2021 when my parents decided to travel the southern 🇺🇸, just in time for the start of the Delta variant wave—including near Jacksonville, FL, which would be 1 of the hardest hit areas. Afterward, his doc couldn’t figure out his ongoing low white blood cell count.

So I speak to these highlights ⬇️
“Few EASY IMMEDIATE countermeasures” eh?
Only if you fail to learn, prepare/spend, AND act/spend.
“not be possible to halt the spread” so “waste” of resources to attempt it?
Only if you fail to study historic successes.
Impacts may differ from predictions?

…this appears to be Appendix 5 (Planning assumptions) of that framework document/website from the link www.england.nhs.uk/long-read/fr...
Full ALT for that appendix appears with the 2 images below.

I have thoughts on the idiocy of that bullet and other aspects of this text…

I don’t know if this will comfort anyone who, like me, subjected themselves to the CDC ACIP Hep B💉 mtg. that took all day today, but it seems it was equally painful for some of those who’ve been too insulated in their silos of reckless change.

Fave moment was Malone nearly gouging his eye out. ⬇️

Various high stress hand positions (see ALT for explanations of accompanying motions happening at the time of these images) from near the end of the meeting. /END
December 4, 2025 at 10:20 PM
Closest he came was nearly towards but not fully on 1 ear. ⬇️🚫🙉

There was a ton of hand wringing and finger rolling self-comforting motions, in addition to more of the same face cupping and head rubbing. (See next reply—my last.)

Meeting is now adjourned until another fun filled session tomorrow.🙄
December 4, 2025 at 10:01 PM
Has anyone else watching the ACIP meeting been tracking Malone’s hand movements as actively as I have?

He is STRESSED.

Most of my images can be found in the quoted 🧵⬇️, but I missed when he plunged a finger into his mouth midway—darn my own slow fingers.

Dang—Dr. Laura Morris just got him to go 🙊!
December 4, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Ope… just got into some technical serology discussion… 🙄
December 4, 2025 at 7:15 PM
He did go full coverage later in the session when two other panelists were discussing not having a clear idea of the wording and rescheduling the vote.
December 4, 2025 at 6:45 PM
The body language says it all… Malone, faced by facts and experts from doctors calling in to the Hepatitis B vaccine CDC meeting who are fighting the committee’s misinformation campaign, is actively trying to shut it all out as he shuts it down. 😒
December 4, 2025 at 3:44 PM
Considering where I am, I can certainly commiserate—we prioritize flu💉 despite seeing “game changer” numbers resulting from adopting RSV💉and COVID impacting more bodily systems than flu (including the immune system—w/ damage making everyone more vulnerable to everything). 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ bsky.app/profile/char...

Honestly, kind of sad to not see #GivingTuesday trending on this platform.

I don’t know if that’s a sign of the public’s struggling finances and of those with money and influence not caring (because they don’t have to pretend to care if they are following the current 🇺🇸 administration’s lead). 🤷‍♀️

Ugh.

I forgot to ✅ local news this week, so I missed this ⬇️ from 3 days ago… & it was worth missing.

So much about it, particularly in the last half, is so frustratingly wrong/horrifying.

My local children’s hospital is a joke/nightmare.

4/ Our school was kind of on top of a hill. We dragged our supplies to the southeast corner of campus where there was a big downward slope. On the way, we scored an abandoned beat-up, hard plastic, round, blue kiddie pool.
November 26, 2025 at 5:59 PM
3/ We grabbed some trays previously borrowed from the dining hall, removed the ice machine’s rectangular door, and grabbed a chair on metal runners. There chair felt like an insanely reckless choice, but we drug it along—heck, maybe peeps would need breaks and not want to sit on snow.

1/ I’m not Canadian, but I was in an org in college that took a trip from SW Ohio to Toronto and back in the 1st days of ‘99 (during ⬇️).

When we got back to OH/school, we were the only people on campus (everyone else was a day or 2 away from returning from winter break).

After being trapped…

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

In the near future, if you can afford it, you’re really going to want to buy organic to not only avoid typical pesticide health impacts but also additional PFAS cancer/health impacts. 🤦‍♀️😤

Interesting how the CDC data for Ohio seems to differ from the state of Ohio’s wastewater data site, which currently (data as of 20 Nov) indicates the state has a Moderate level of COVID (overall declining but rising in 4% of sites). But who knows, maybe tomorrow’s update will be a massive drop. 🤷‍♀️
