I realized I got worked up and notice a ton of spelling/grammar/dropped words. I get really fired up about these abusive, non therapeutic practices. I want to add a correction I dropped the “often” from “the most extreme cases are” when editing. I did not mean to negate other traumas intentionally.

5/5 and it pisses me off that anyone who works in the mental health field can say with a straight face that this does not cause harm. we have so many patients who have trauma and the most extreme cases are from people who were sent to conversion camps. Fuck her and fuck the Supreme Court

The court appeared ready to invalidate laws in some two dozen states that bar therapists from practicing a version of therapy that seeks to change a teenager's sexual orientation or gender identity.

4/5 them physically on top of it all and you get people who kill themselves because they can’t integrate themselves into the true self or you get a person who lives with shame guilt and the impact of abuse who struggles to find themselves as lovable or true. These issues play out in our community

3/5 a core part of the self. Our sexuality and the sexual life is a core part of our being. Sex is a primary driver, right up there with food and water. We are innately sexual beings and when you fuck with that and tell someone one of their primary drives is evil or bad or wrong and then abuse

2/5 The impact on how these programs fracture the individual self and then attempt to classically condition the gay away in conjunction with so much of this having additional religious harm on top of it all leaves people with broken minds and hearts. Internally hating themselves and often rejecting

1/5 So dropping my cat act for a few moments. As a clinical social worker in the real world I can testify to the real harm conversion programs do to people. I do trauma work as a part of my practice and I’ve had people harmed by these programs that spend a long time trying to rediscover themselves

When I was a junior in college, I had a new roommate who had an affect to his speech and mannerisms that made me suspect he was gay. A couple of weeks into school he sat down with me for dinner and revealed that he was gay.

I had to act shocked like I didn't already figure it out.

Non diaper content. I had a wild dream about having friends and my boyfriend over for a daytime Halloween party. Eventually we started getting windy weather and then so many tornado cones were coming down and we kept dodging them until the last massive one took out our house. So weird 🌪️ 🏡
