Be angry at the people who are causing your financial issues, not the people who have no choice but to learn how to live in a world not made for them. We're all struggling, your leaders are mad and locked in a weird dick-measuring contest. Be mad at that.

If anything, there's a massive power imbalance. And let's not forget how easy it is to blame things on vulnerable people instead of blaming it on the actual people causing the issues in the country you live in. Oh, yeah, I'm talking about the filthy rich and the governments in their pockets.

They...don't. A lot of times, they really don't. The world is made with people without disabilities in mind. Having a ramp or signs in contrast isn't special, you're getting literally everything already. There is no scarcity of special, just people who get everything they need & those who don't.

Of course, it looks so out of place for them to see something adapted for people with disabilities because it's outside of their "normal". Even if it's something small, you'll have several Brits huffing and puffing over it. It stands out and they think it's special, why do these folks get special?

I am so sick and tired of British people demonising people with disabilities. Do they think it's easy having a disability and having to work around it and sometimes you can find a regular job, but mostly you can't? Everything is adapted to them.

No, you get a chance to learn and be better. You get a chance to understand the people around you and why they need a bit of extra time or why they can't use a medical device and use a service animal instead. You get to come out of your "everything is awesome" bubble and be an actual human.

I had to learn to identify my own prejudices and correct them, and still do. My friends who have more knowledge teach me when I fail to understand. It's not shameful to admit you're wrong, it's a way to grow. Too many people hold on with their teeth onto the idea that being wrong is the worst.

"You can't teach an old dog new tricks" is an excuse to remain ignorant. It doesn't take years to look into why people need various aids & adaptations. The information is readily available and easy to digest. If you have 5 hours to binge Love Island, you have 5 minutes for a video on hearing aids.
