i think in universe, the reasoning is just that superficial unless its specific scenarios (like alice)

but this is a fictional story, so the writers made sure that the picks we see benefit the storytelling

thats whats most important to me, remembering this is Fiction with Purpose

The only all powerful entity looking after humanity is X, and whoever it finds better learn that quickly.

It is no angel nor devil, you wish it had a moral compass to spare some.

I think X hates religion because it's upset humans think so lowly of themselves.
It's upset they'd rather turn a blind eye to the horrors and put all their faith in a made up person, it's upset it's missing out on sweet sweet despair, it's upset they don't think for themselves.

X's favorite thing in the universe are humans, it loves analyzing how their minds work and how they react to different stimuli, especially when it can use that to create negative emotions. This doesnt stem from hatred, it's explicitly a fascination X sees as positive.

With that said, the question now is: Why does it hate religion? It knows god is not real, and it has zero interest in being praised as a deity by humanity, laughing at someone doing so.
I think it ties back to its obsession.
