Discworld is awesome and it can be daunting looking at a catalog. It's important to remember he wrote series with different character group focuses so you can start with whatever group sounds good. Also great standalone stuff. Here's a flowchart that is fun.
Which Discworld novel should I start with? First choice is series or standalone? Series as a choice leads to male or female protagonist? Which leads to 7 foot tall skelton and his granddaughter, male, female Skelton leads to the book Mort Female leads to elderly witches full of literary and folkloric references or young witch with a lot of anger and tiny blue scottish sidekicks? Old leads to book Wyrd Sisters (Okay technically Equal Rites, fine) Young leads to book The Wee Free Men Male leads to Do you like Wizzards (correct spelling is crossed out) No leads to okay, charming conman or disgruntled police officer? Conman are ace leads to book Going Postal I'm all about disgruntlement leads to book Guards! Guards! Our annual trip to Brookfiled Zoo is happening this Sunday! We'll be decorating at 10 am and then enjoying the zoo.
