It's not just that the White House won't commemorate World AIDS Day.

It's that Trump has needlessly decimated lifesaving HIV/AIDS research. It's that his administration has cut off resources to help eradicate this disease around the world.

Hurting people and helping no one.

Disaster relief has been handled more or less efficiently under different administrations.

And funded at different levels.

Generally, Democratic administrations are more competent and generous.

But, only Trump and his Republican helpers in Congress have made it this partisan and difficult.
Michiganders are facing higher costs and the Trump Admin’s denial of disaster relief is now driving up their electricity prices even more.

Federal assistance eases the burden on communities when disasters strike. These denials are a betrayal to Michiganders who need help.

Today we honor Rosa Parks. Her courage sparked a movement, and still inspires us to stand up for justice and equality.

She reminds us that real change begins when we hold firm to our convictions and work for a fair, just, and equal society.

The Trump administration is leaving WA refugees and immigrants to go hungry. But WA Democratic leaders won’t let that happen. They’re stepping in to provide food assistance so families get a chance to thrive and succeed.
Some immigrants are no longer eligible for SNAP. How WA is responding
Washington plans to cover SNAP benefits for refugees and other immigrants cut from food stamps under the GOP's spending bill. Advocates worry the relief won't last.

Any time Republicans talk about going back to "high-risk pools", what they really mean is effectively kicking millions of people with pre-existing conditions off their health insurance.

Here’s how it works:

And this is basically why I vote Democratic, have always voted Democratic, and will continue to vote Democratic, with pride and with hope, as long as I live.
Soon: "America is for whites only (and some whites are more equal than others, so we get to decide)."

President Biden: "Other nations are defined by geography [and] ethnicity, but we're the only nation based on an idea. That all of us, every one of us, is created equal in the image of God."

70 years ago today, Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery city bus — an act of civil disobedience that sparked the #MontgomeryBusBoycott and helped transform our nation. Her courage continues to inspire us as we push forward in the fight for civil rights.

We can acknowledge parallel struggles that exist among different classes of people but what we not gone do is act like if you’re not rich you’re poor. No.

When yall say things like everyone is poor it makes me realize that you have not actually looked poverty in the face.

It is absolutely disingenuous for anyone to liken him/herself to people who cannot pay bills, who are unhoused, who truly have empty cupboards, who do not have warm sheets.
