Okay after sleeping on it and trying again in the morning with some good music going, skinning is proving to be very relaxing and almost meditative??? I love ngskintools. look at that hip crease!

Spent all of yesterday and today bashing my head trying to understand skinning, and I think I've built my understanding from 0% to about 35-40%. Very frustrating at points, but I'm starting to slowly discover a workflow that I think works for me

Finally taking the time to learn how to properly rig a character. I'm starting to understand Maya and 3D at a level much closer to the actual data of the scene, not just relying on what's in the viewport.
