I hate to agree with World Chess about anything, but it does seem logical that there would/should be a standard reciprocal agreement regarding enforcement of (at least some kinds of) bans across #chess federations. Is this the case in federations for other sports/games? #fide #uscf

They’re using an Averbakh II/Soviet Upright! Such an interesting set, with those slender stems, flame finials on the kings, and unassuming/benign-looking knights.

Igor Rubel lost this game but the same year he was the surprising champion of Leningrad. In 1963 on his way to Krasnoyarsk he travelled via Moscow to see the world champion's match Botvinnik-Petrosian. However, his plane crashed, Rubel died April 4th only 29 years old. bsky.app/profile/sima...
