Since I was relatively poor by U.S./First World standards, I was recording songs off FM radio as “recently” as 2002. I had CDs, but those were monitored by a strict household. I had hit record if I heard a song that I wanted to hear again (and if I suspected it wouldn’t meet “approval”).
