People like reading about a guy called Logic sitting in a cave with a secret master plan, and then some weird alien randomly turning the solar system into 2D while some woman is stuck with a guy in a tiny universe and somehow decides that the guy is very attractive?

I wonder: do people actually LIKE Liu's work? Or is it just because they WANT to like something coming out of China? IMO the first book is readable, even though the writing is bad, but then it spirals completely out of control and turns into the fever dream of a 12-year-old who likes spaceships.
