From sleeping in a closet as an OSU student assistant to becoming Mike Vrabel's most trusted football advisor, it's been a long journey to Foxborough for John “Stretch” Streicher. What makes this “rising star” so vital to New England's head coach?

“This guy is going to run an organization one day.”
John Streicher is Mike Vrabel’s version of Ernie Adams, and that’s not all: ‘This guy is going to run an organization one day’ - The Boston Globe
The 35-year-old never played football in college, but climbed the ranks alongside Mike Vrabel after the two met at Ohio State. Now, he's Vrabel's right-hand man in New England.

Craig Woodson is on pace to be the first Patriots’ rookie defensive player to play 90-plus percent of snaps in his first year since Devin McCourty.

I talked to the New England legend today about what he likes about the rookie safety.
A matter of trust: Devin McCourty impressed by early gains of Patriots rookie Craig Woodson - The Boston Globe

This was something that was discussed in Foxborough today: how different coaches might handle the Patriots after an emotional win like Sunday.

Hogan details what usually happened with Bill Belichick, and says Vrabel might take a different approach.

Adrian Hill set to work as the referee for Sunday's Patriots-Saints game. Sunday will mark his first New England game of the year, and first since Dec. 1, 2024, a 25-24 win for Indianapolis. According to @nflpenalties.bsky.social, Hill's crew is in the top 5 among flags thrown this year.

Thanks to @chrisinma.bsky.social: That should be since the middle of the 2022 season. Not 2023.

The Patriots are vying for their third straight win this week. If they can beat the Saints, it would mark the first time they’ve won three in a row since the middle of the 2023 season, when they beat the Jets, Colts, and Jets, a streak that took them from 3-4 to 6-4.

Hogan says the best path forward for the Patriots is simple: Continue to play like a 3-2 team … that should be 4-1.

Going back and trying to find the last time a defensive rookie played 90 percent of the snaps over the course of his first year. Gonzalez would have been on that track if he didn't get hurt, IMO. We're going on & on about some of the other rookies on that roster, but he deserves real acknowledgment.

Didn’t realize that Woodson has played THAT much! Wow.
I guess it’s a good sign that his name isn’t being called out. Means he’s doing what’s expected when called upon. Love that.

RG Mike Onwenu and C Garrett Bradbury are the only two players on the roster who have played 100% of possible snaps 5 weeks into the regular season. The duo has played every snap on offense (314 of 314). S Craig Woodson is tops on defense, having played 97.4% of the snaps on that side of the ball.
