If anything good can come out of this (and I am not optimistic) perhaps people will be forced to see all the ways in which our immigration system has always been fundamentally inhumane and cruel and false.

When I worked in immigration law this wasn’t as common as it is now, but it happened, and it made everyone in the room so desperately uncomfortable, the way you are when you are confronted with your own bald-faced lie that you have to keep up. This is from 2016.

I mean probably Trump’s biggest unwavering base is Evangelical Christians. Less of them in Utah vs other red states. That’s all I got.
