Normally, if I can't think of a good reason for them not being there I have the character present but as an NPC who is death proof for the session. But our Dragonbane GM, @redtide.bsky.social, does the same as @gianniseviltwin.bsky.social and I'm starting to think it's the way to go.

I do a lot of prep for 2 reasons. 1, I enjoy it, it's lonely fun for me. 2, if I'm well prepped I can improvise easily, if I'm not I get lost and struggle.
