This was also funny! It may have been the deadpan delivery by Ashford MacNab in the audio, but she had me laughing at several points.

Such a fun book!

This has all the hallmarks of a fantasy romance, giant warrior Warwick, a cursed exiled queen Elena.

But it was really well done, with a great third act break up.

Definitely! I've only listened to Heated Rivalry and it was great. The rest I'm reading with my eyes

Thank you Kate Prior for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed the commentary on capitalism, vigilantism and operating outside the law.

The resolution felt a little rushed and I wanted to see more about the bad guy getting his comeuppance. But I also appreciated the lovely reconnection between Lacey and Ellis.

This mixed a fun, almost cartoonish, story of flying monsters, superheroes and TV reporters with some much deeper themes.

Lacey's battle to overcome being a people pleaser and slow realisations about how she was being treated by her ex were top notch and beautifully treated.

This really is a quick read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I loved the Ryan/Fabian pairing. I loved the awkward and patient intimacy.

And I loved Ilya fluttering in like a fairy godmother and providing wise counsel.

I also loved the rest of the Mackenzie family - just gleefully watching Hart get his comeuppance.

This really is a lovely book about a powerful man working out what’s truly important to him.

Hart’s book was always going to be delicious wasn’t it? Stuffy duke is brought to his knees by the only woman in the world who isn’t scared of him.

I loved Eleanor blithely stepping where everyone else feared to tread.

I loved single minded Mia, willing to do anything it takes to get what she wants.

But I felt like the pace was a bit bumpy and towards the end I lost interest.

This was Minerva Spencer's debut though, so I will try more from her.

This was OK.

If you're after a bonkers plot, look no further. FMC Mia escaped from a harem in Algeria and after returning to England in her 30s is married off in a hurry to Adam, two time widower, whose wives died in mysterious circumstances.

This is a case of “the one” solving all problems. Cameron Mackenzie suffered serious trauma during his first marriage. But Ainsley soothes his soul and they live happily ever after!

I enjoyed that this really dug deep on their relationship and that they were forced to communicate to resolve things.

This felt like a bit of a love letter to Madison and I suspect that locals would really enjoy all the references to the city.

Though it’s set in 1969, I felt as if I could have been set any time. The story was more about the magic than the time period.

EH Lupton has a clever turn of phrase which had me giggling at several points.

I was totally invested in this story of Ulysses and Sam (Dionysus). It was lighthearted and poignant. And yet they were dealing with Sam’s really dreadful family, demons and a god who wants to take over.
