Sorry, just saw this. Adelman in Oregon has absolutely beautiful roots. Did you pick something for yourself?

Thanks for the kind words! We have limited space so we have to work strategically to fit all the food and #NativePlants and gorgeous Clematis & scented roses I want to grow.

Thanks, Tracey! It was a nice surprise.

Mild temps definitely keeping blooms going but we’ve also gotten bursts of rain when we needed it here. Our fall color lasted forever this year & hoping it helps fall plantings really come out thriving next year. But is a little unsettling change of rhythm. Cold is coming for us this week though.

It’s not fasciation. It’s a cultivar called ’Nora Barlow’ which is widely sold. There is a whole series of colors in this Barlow series that have this spurless multi-layered type of bloom and can be grown true from seed.

So true! Although today it was coffee and cleaning saved seed for me after checking this order in. The promise of new plants! 🥰

They are addictive! We have 3 different cultivars now. Plus paniculatas, serratas & an arborescens. All of which perform much better in my climate without drought wilting & poor flowering of the macrophyllas nurseries love to sell in bloom. My neighbor has one & I can’t remember it ever flowering.
