I got that Phoenix Wright Christmas Ornament. This is waaaaay nicer than I thought it was going to be. This is surprisingly heavy.

Kamille? Why do you look like Mark Hamill?

And I gotta admit I miss the pulpy genre of Superhero films. They’re really fun in terms of giving a character with a very limited set of skills and abilities to challenge the hero and overcome. Especially when it involves a time limit like here

Unfortunately I saw Doctor Giggles first and it became a bit of a problem for me. You see while Larry Drake is a fun imposing gangster in Darkman, I kept expecting him to pull out a comically large bone saw. It was weird to wrap my head around him being a legitimate threat.

Watched Darkman for the first time today. It’s one of those movies where I constantly saw the poster and vhs box for it whenever we rented a movie from the base shoppette, but never saw it.

I liked it a lot. Awesome stunts, great makeup and a neat concept for a character.

Caught up with Kamen Rider ZEZTZ.

Been really enjoying it…

So I’m not crazy think these two sets of characters are the same right?

Is anybody else watching “Haha, You Clowns”?

It’s not a gut buster comedy or anything, but it’s the type of silly I enjoy. It’s strangely sincere and played completely straight. It’s like the joke is the characters don’t have a shred of negativity to them when media expects us to.

I’m a little bummed I didn’t get to 31 movies this year, but ending on a flashy, gory, monster flick with a really fun 3D gimmick that I’ll probably never experience again does feel appropriate for ending my Halloween Marathon this year.

Worth going out of your way to see.

I genuinely think the Swimming Pool scene might be one of the best romantic sequences I’ve seen in awhile. It’s cute and the way it’s animated is gorgeous. The 3D in the scene was really nice too.

I’m not fully caught up with the manga, but the Reze Arc is definitely one of my favorite storylines. It’s essentially a teenage romance that turns into a horror show and there’s an excellent climatic Shonen fight scene with a Bomb demon and a Chainsaw monster. Great stuff

25. Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc - 2025 (Theaters)
9/10

I accidentally bought a 3D showing and you know what, this was a pretty fun experience. There’s lots of cool use of depth and blood/sparks shooting towards you. I had a really fun time at the theater and would recommend it fully.

Also while “The Man in Black” is a cool villain with great moments and fantastic dialogue, he kept reminding me of Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts. So from now on this character forever looks like this to me when I read/listen to The Dark Tower.

Audiobook 01. The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger by Stephen King
8/10

This was a really fun book to listen to while I was at work. Roland is a cool character and his partnership with Jake is good drama. There are some great action set pieces and the climax is really damn good.

I’m counting this one because the second half is pretty horrific. Like one of their fighters legitimately collected his opponent’s teeth. I really love Napoleon Blownapart’s documentaries. He does an excellent job of presenting stories from combat sports. Highly recommended

One of my favorite skeleton YouTubers put up an early version of his next video essay. This one is about two fighting channels on YT that are polar opposites in tone

Not adding this to the list and not scoring it, but I attempted to watch Carrie (1976). I’m 20 minutes in and I’m bowing out. The abusive religious mother is too much for me and that opening scene was way too cruel. Watching people get tortured in realistic ways is not what I watch movies for.

I’m also very confused how Loomis is still alive after 2, but Pleasents is a delight to watch so it’s ultimately a positive in the movie’s favor.

Outside of that, I thought the ending was interesting. I liked this way more than I thought I would.

I liked Jamie. I’m not sure if I missed why she was orphaned by Laurie or if the movie just chose not to explain it, but regardless the character is an interesting target for Myers and the child actress is really good too.

Speaking of, there’s some excellent kills in this one. The shotgun death in particular really floored me. And Bucky really gets it good too. The problem is the cinematography is pretty lacking and it doesn’t show them very well.
