The stories of pregnant women in ICE detention — one shackled while miscarrying, another placed in solitary confinement with a high-risk pregnancy — are not one offs.

They're a clear pattern of neglect where ICE ignores its own rules. This cruelty must end.
Pregnant immigrants held for months in detention despite rules against it
With the immigration crackdown, more pregnant women are being detained. The ACLU alleges a woman was shackled while miscarrying and others were denied prenatal care.

Health insurers are jacking up premiums while raking in billions in profits.

Expiring ACA subsidies will saddle millions of Americans with massive monthly premium increases.

Is it any wonder that 63% of Americans now support Medicare for All?

This is a thread of #ICELawlessness.

Don't ignore it!
It sucks so hard, but don't turn away! Bear witness & share it!

Make sure no one you know can claim ignorance.

At the bottom of the thread I'll share links on various platforms so you can share these videos everywhere.

I can’t believe we have to point out this basic fact to counter his war narrative.

I just need to read about one company that says, "Don't be an idiot, they wrote that post on their own time and it's not even a lie." Just one company that will show the most fleeting glimmer of spine.

I’ve shared the story of these four innocent girls before: September 15th is their day.

Imagine what they might have accomplished if they had been allowed to live.
Four Black girls were murdered in a church for daring to exist in a desegregated America.

Decades later, justice came, because people refused to let the story die.

Watch Sen Doug Jones and historian Heather Cox Richardson break it down.

History isn’t past. It’s a warning.

Someone very smartly said "Each Republican President for the last fifty years has been a destructive force"... I agree how many times are we going to repair it?

The Washington Post now has no Black Opinion columnists - none - at a time when white nationalism is ascendant in our nation. I am grateful to Karen for the truth and fearlessness her work has always shown. Keep shining that light, my friend.

So not surprising that the people who fetishize assault rifles kill more Americans than those who don't.

There was a LOT of adulting done today; mortgage application, benefits claims, asking for a replacement on a stale dated cheque, documents collected and requested.

And this after a week of retirement planning and access to Service Canada to check our CPP benefits.

It all produces so much anxiety.

This is inhuman.

No Canadians should be going to the US, even for work. Koreans represented almost a trillion dollars investment in the US and they still got treated this way.

Summary executions without trials are considered among the most heinous of human rights violations.

This is who the president of the United States is - and everyone who voted for him or who stayed home instead of voting.
