new horizons has a similar issue but differently structured, endless customization at the cost of personality and the character that defined the franchise prior to it. smash ultimate replacing most singleplayer content with spirit battles is a similar example in a different genre

genuinely the most fun i've had with a kart racer since double dash. there's some room for improvement presentation-wise but they manage to strike a balance of skill-based racing and goofy item bullshit

idk how clear it's been but i am a huge undertale fan. in a weirdly slightly secret way. it's probably in my top 10, at one point it was my number 1. it was the only thing i talked about for a year and i still think about it almost daily
