I was disappointed to find that @bsky.app only lets you attach one animation at a time. This was the Doctor Who image I selected first.

I'd also include Peter Pan in this tradition. Neverland is a classic "portal fantasy" world.

My own novel The Lasting Lands folds in aspects of Oz, Wonderland, and Neverland, and I think the general vibe aligns with Over the Garden Wall really well. I'm definitely a fan.

I'm certainly working on it.

L. Frank Baum was directly influenced by Alice in Wonderland and wanted to make an American version of that, basically. While I love the characters in Wonderland, I feel like the actual world of Oz if much more developed and satisfying.
More progress on the map for my #dreampunk science fantasy novel The Lasting Lands.

It's going to get a lot cleaner once I digitize it, but first I have to do the whole thing by hand to make sure the end product has that hand-drawn feel.

This is clearly some sort of nightmare beast taking on the rough form of a bicycle to deceive its prey.

Heh, pretty sure I'm that spouse. My wife's only issue is that I'm too slow. Same with cooking. I know what I'm doing, but I take a while.

Ah yes, sort of like the specialized skill of loading the dishwasher.

It's very similar to on The Price Is Right where you have to guess as close as you can to some unknown value without going the slightest bit over.
