A refresh of my values (for anyone who cares) @bladeofthes.bsky.social got me thinking with a recent post about financial interests so a new page has been added to cover the role/stds expected in public life. As a school governor for 20 yrs and a cllr for 7 I’d like to think I meet such standards

Followers from my old Twitter a/c (now mothballed) and BlueSky will know my values but for anyone who doesn’t here they are. I have refreshed with an additional pledge that no elected politician shoul...

Interesting BBC Question time tonight where Labour represent the centrist ground and three other right wing panel members to troll out the doom and then @zackpolanski.bsky.social brings the optimism
BBC One - Question Time, 2025, 09/10/2025
Fiona Bruce presents an hour of topical debate from Shrewsbury.

Farage tactics are same as Trump - in this case playing on his base’s insecurities - most of them probably hated school too, they blame school, govt and immigrants, for all their problems
cllrandyoddy.bsky.social
I might have had Cameron above Major on leadership but only just but he made the gravest error of any post war Tory PM with the referendum. Leadership would have been just ignoring Farage.

Thoughts with you Reece. Lost my Dad last year - still hurts - but he helped me so much with stories and anecdotes in his later years about his early life - life before me - and as the family historian that stuff is gold dust you can never get from Ancestry or findmypast

Yeah I think a better analogy would be to size the neighbourhood and the income levels and compare it to invested income of billionaires. With £6.5bn a modest growth of 6% (doing nothing special) equates to £390m a year or £32.5m a month or £7.5m a week or £214k per working hour for a 35hr week

I joined the Lib Dem’s in 2019 because they were the only party opposing Brexit. That was the only policy that mattered to me in 2019. Anything else was acceptable collateral damage. It took me two years after the 2020 GE to get my membership stopped - apparently there was a backlog!

I am really warming to Zack Polanski and more specifically to his ideas, honesty and apparent commitment to just doing the right thing which is rarely doing what the right want.

A day to reflect - sadness for Israeli families who lost loved ones 2 years ago and absolute despair for every citizen of Gaza who has had to pay the price ever since and rage at the govts and media companies of the world who have stood back and continue the silence that let this genocide happen.

And they wonder why everyone questions their tariff policies? Maths not a strong point in the GOP it seems. There’s aligning with your base - and there’s stupid.

Too much believing fElon Musk and his obsession with Martians?

This is important. On 24th June 2016 way too many people were left thinking “I could have done more”. Let’s not be in that position come the next general election. We can see the chaos that ensues when we assume someone else can do the persuading.

After praising Zack Polanski's communication skills, deputy leader of the Green Party Rachel Millward says,

"I remember how I felt on the morning of Brexit"

"We just literally let Farage's lies write history"

Is the author name a typo from Gullible?

Hitler was self-labelled a “socialist” too - but there is a world of difference between national socialist and democratic socialist

Strange that they now believe data sharing should be decided at the ballot box. It’s never been an issue for them before. Strong smell of 🐂💩

Who could ever have imagined when I played a fictional rebel who joined the Resistance to oppose a criminal Authoritarian & wannabe King, it would be happening in real-life?

Really feeling it for all the “patriots” who spent days putting up flags only to see them shredded, battered and torn to bits by Amy. No doubt they’re blaming the Met Office for allowing it to happen having conflated them with “Sir Sharia Khan’s Met Police”.

Palantir concerned about the reputational damage of being associated with Starmer? Sorry, not swallowing it.
chadbourn.bsky.social
Palantir has pulled out of involvement with the UK Digital ID card, according to an interview with their UK CEO on Times Radio. They’re concerned about the reputational damage of being involved with an unpopular Starmer policy.
cllrandyoddy.bsky.social
Is there a transcript of this anywhere? I mean seriously, Palantir concerned about reputational damage? The company that is the biggest threat to a democratic free world after X and Facebook? Jeez!

“The second anyone suggests that a man whose entire political career has been devoted to attacking migrants and making discriminatory comments about non-white people, might be a racist, all hell breaks loose”

Enough. Farage is a racist menace. We must say so.

Nigel Farage Is a Racist

The media is refusing to state the most bleedingly obvious facts about a man whose entire career has been devoted to pursuing a racist political agenda

Nigel Farage is a racist. That is my honestly held opinion based on absolutely everything he has said and done since entering politics in the late nineties.

Ah but they do - their backers certainly do - and they will make £££billions from the ensuing chaos

100% agree. Racist to the core and has been since he was a schoolboy in Dulwich. His peers from school have said so, his teachers have said so, his own actions in politics are totally focussed on racist policies. We ALL need to say it. LOUDLY.
